Quarterly Alumni Update
July 2018

Another Cadet year has come and gone and the Cadets and their Officers are enjoying their summer off, be it at home or at camp.  It has been another eventful year for both the Corps and the Alumni.  The following newsletter contains some highlights of the past six months (sorry, with the Sea Cadet Centennial, we missed our quarterly update in March), but be sure to keep up to date by regularly visiting our website (http://jtcvcAlumni.ca) and Facebook group (JTCVC Alumni).

Have a fantastic summer,
The Alumni Team.

Corps Cap Tallies

The Alumni are looking to acquire all of the different cap tallies worn by cadets over the years.  We are currently looking for a R.C.S.C. cap tally, which was worn between 1943 and 1952 (shown in the picture to the left).  If you have a R.C.S.C. cap tally that you would be willing to donate to the Corps, please contact your Alumni Team.  For a complete list of cap tallies already acquired, see our website.

Chief & Petty Officers’ Mess Constitution

In 1962 the Chief & Petty Officers’ Mess drafted a constitution for the Mess.  That Constitution, pictured to the left, has fallen on hard times.  The Alumni would like to try and restore this document, but we require your assistance.  A substantial piece on the left hand side is now missing.  If you have a picture of the full Constitution, or if you were a member of the drafting party and remember the wording, your Alumni Team would dearly love to hear from you (AlumniTeam@jtcvcAlumni.ca).  Full details.

Join the Alumni Facebook Group

The Corps would like to restrict the use of the RCSCC John Travers Cornwell VC Facebook page to posts about the Corps, so please post any Alumni related items on the Alumni Facebook Page.  The Alumni will respect the Corps’ wishes and from now on only post information about upcoming events on the Alumni Facebook Page, so if you haven’t already done so, please join the Alumni Facebook Group, to be sure you don’t miss any upcoming events.

History of the Second 50 Years

The Alumni is hoping to create a history book for 1970 to 2020, similar to the one produced in 1972, encompassing all the stories and information submitted to the website.  So, please send us your pictures and stories from your time as a member of RCSCC John Travers Cornwell VC.  Full details.
